CDM Brazil

�Northeastern and northern Brazil is still heavily dependent on diesel oil. These regions are abundant in biomass which is a great source for fuel substitution projects.

Since Brazil is a country that needs significant investments in technology and where labor is relatively cheap, there are great opportunities for developing CDM projects.

More than 44% of Brazil�s energy mix is clean.
Considering the high approval standards utilized by the Designated National Authority, the Brazilian CDM projects are known for their proven quality.

In March 2007 there were 200 CDM projects at validation stage in Brazil. By August 2008, this number increased to 310. In terms of registered projects, during the same period there was an increase from 100 to 142 projects respectively.

�Planck E�s approach to the various detected CDM possibilities has been carried out in the following ways:

CDM training. Since early 2006, Planck E offers a basic 1 day and a more in-depth 2 day course, providing participants with information on the theory behind the Kyoto Protocol and the workings of the Clean Development Mechanism. The course has been originally developed in conjunction with Dr. Pedro Landim, from the BNDES (National Development Bank). To date, we have had over 300 delegates from various market segments, interests and geographical areas (all states in Brazil).

Delegates from international companies like Nestl�, Akzo Nobel, AGF, Belgo Bekaert, Coca-Cola (Rio de Janeiro State distribution), Air Liquide, Krupp and national companies like Petrobras, Dedini, Cia Vale do Rio Doce, Eletrobr�s and Chesf to name the most expressive ones, have attended our training courses

CDM Consulting. Planck E offers clients with expertise to detect CDM potential and proceed to manage the whole Carbon Credit process, from feasibility studies to final UN EB registration.

�CDM Project Development. Planck E has the necessary technical expertise to develop PDD�s from a range of methodologies, in full compliance with DOE/DNA/EB standards.

�CER Commerce. Planck E assists projects at PIN and initial validation stages to obtain project funding by encountering potential CER buyers and negotiating Emission Reduction Project Agreements (ERPA).
